Hi! My name is Michayla Davis and I’m a 25 year old from Saginaw, MI. I’ve been in the metro-Detroit area since March of 2022 and have grown so much since being here.

Growing up, I’ve never been super athletic and with my height, it was always like I was expected to have played some kind of sport whether it was basketball, volleyball, or track and field. I was also always told I had the height, physique, and potential to be a model and I always had an interest for it but being a shy introverted kid from a small city, I never saw myself being able to do it. I’ve always watched and been interested in shows like America’s Next Top Model, Dance Moms, and Toddlers and Tiaras. Being that I did dance as a kid, I did recitals often and did my first pageant show when I was 7 years old. I was so shy in the pageant that I looked at the floor the entire time. After that, I knew being the center of attention in front of a crowd was not for me.

As I grew older, my interest for modeling never left and I went out on a whim and casted and walked in my first fashion show in 2017 put on by a local agency in Saginaw called Beauty in Me. Later on in 2019, I decided to become a part of the Beauty in Me team as a model and I had the chance to walk in multiple local shows and my first big show, “Walk Fashion Detroit”. After transferring and going away to college, I hadn’t done any shows since 2019. After a few months of living in Detroit, I decided to cast for a show, made it, and loved it even more than I imagined I did before.

It took me a while to warm up to being a model and taking the leap to be where I am now in modeling, but it’s become something I’ve began to find myself in. I’ve begun to feel like I belong and have been accepted into these shows and spaces for a reason. Since moving to Detroit, I’ve been able to expand myself, my confidence, my creativity, and my connections. I’ve since walked in multiple big shows including LAFW with The Model Experience and NYFW with Indie Fashion. I’ve connected and worked with multiple photographers and models across the US and have even had the chance to be a part of a production team for The Dare to See the Unseen Show here in Detroit. My goal in modeling is to become more confident, bold, and expressive in who I am through my walk and creativity.
